Creatine Supplements Review

Creatine supplements are one of the most popular bodybuilding supplements for gaining strength and building muscles. Not very often will you talk to a bodybuilder that is not real familiar with this supplement. Just what are creatine supplements and, more importantly, what’s so special about taking them? What do they do for the body and why are they so popular with bodybuilders?

Few sports supplements on the market are used as much as creatine supplements. They’re a natural substance known for building large, defined biceps, triceps and pecs. In short, they’ll massively change your skeletal muscles. They’ll increase the duration of your workouts and are used by many athletes and bodybuilders participating in high-intensity sports. Many athletes go so far as to say creatine supplements give them the edge they need in athletic competitions.

When and why did creatine become so popular? Creatine became very well known after the 1992 Summer Olympics.  Many of the athletes that excelled over the completion claimed they used creatine supplements to give them the edge they needed to compete effectively.

Creatine comes from meat and is natural, so the athletes didn’t have any restrictions regulating its use. After this, creatine supplements became very popular throughout the world and continue to be popular with bodybuilders and athletes as a way to make their muscles stronger and larger.

How do creatine supplements work? Your kidneys and liver automatically produce creatine. Eating a diet rich in fish and game also makes the body build more creatine, which help build and increase the structure-forming muscles in your body. As an occurring amino acid that is natural, creatine is very beneficial to the body, particularly in increasing your muscle size and strength.  It will provide your body with more of this power and muscling building substance.

Overall,  Creatine will help you not only increase your muscle size but also allow you to work out much longer, have more intense workouts and will provide you with more energy. These are all the things required for a good, productive and effective workout.

If I am taking a preworkout that has 3g of creatine monohydrate should I still supplement with something like creavar? I’m a college football player and am looking to gain weight and haven’t taken creatine before.

    • Rick says:

Sure, if you are looking for just Creatine HCl. Im a big fan of this form of Creatine plus the price per serving for Creacore is pretty good so I say go for it!

You should aim to take about 5g of Creatine a day for Creatine Monohydrate and less for other forms like Creatine HCl because it’s more concentrated. Many pre workout supplements that contain Creatine have the required daily amount in them so you just have to check the label to be sure.
